How to Grill a Great Steak!
If you want to know the best way to grill a great quality steak, then follow these 7 easy steps!
How to grill a steak!
  1. Season steaks with salt and pepper, dry rub, or as desired.
  2. Preheat grill until very hot (about 500 - 550°F).
  3. Place your steaks on your preheated grill. They should sizzle!
  4. In a few minutes the juices in the steaks will begin to rise to the surface, use tongs to flip steaks over.
  5. Continue grilling steaks to desired doneness. Use an instant-read thermometer for accuracy (See below).
  6. Remove steaks from grill onto a clean platter and allow them to rest for approximately 5 minutes allowing the juices to redistribute.
  7. Serve and Enjoy!
Cooking times and temperatures will vary with the method of preparation used (grilling, broiling, etc.), the size and cut of the steak and the desired degree of doneness.

Suggested degrees of doneness and temperatures are:

  • Very Rare - Approx 130° F, 55° C
  • Rare - Approx 140° F, 60° C
  • Medium Rare - Approx 145° F, 63° C
  • Medium - Approx 160° F, 71° C
  • Well Done - Approx 170° F, 77° C
  • Very Well Done - Approx 180° F, 82° C
When testing the temperature of the steak with instant-read thermometer place the tip of the thermometer in the center of the steak, without touching bone or resting in the fat.
